I decided my children are starting to act a tad spoiled or entitled or maybe ungrateful. Not because they are bad kids, they just have wonderful people in their life that provide them with anything they ask for, so for them it is regular life. I’ve decided to teach them gratitude and hopefully some work ethic. Yes, there are some chores, rewards, consequences…etc
Along with all of that, they are writing on poster board something they are thankful for (as am I). I want them to think, write it down and come up with something everyday that they are grateful for. There are so many things in life that we take for granted or just get used to them being there and don’t ever say “thank you”.
So…for the next month you will see my Facebook post, tweets and blogs all about being thankful you’ve been warned : 0)
On today, Tuesday, November 1, 2011: I am grateful that I did not have to “call in” to someone to stay home with my sick kids. I realize that not everyone has that option and I am grateful.
